Chad Mendes has essentially been named the next title challenger in the Featherweight division. This is familiar territory for Mendes, who already lost one shot at the belt back in 2012. There is also a possibility that Jose Aldo could vacate his title and move up to Lightweight. Either way, it looks as if Mendes has positioned himself for a title shot in 2014.
