Dana White already came out and said Ben Henderson would not be receiving a title shot following his controversial decision win over Josh Thomson. Yet, the UFC seems to be in a bind with their current lineup of Lightweight title contenders. Henderson has beaten 3 of the top 4 guys next in line (Melendez, Thomson, Diaz), and the only fighter he hasn’t beaten, T.J. Grant, is sidelined indefinitely with a concussion. The UFC will likely hold true to their word and not grant Henderson a title shot at this moment, but should Henderson win his next bout against another top contender like Khabib Nurmagomedov, there would be no denying him another title shot.
