10 Best MMA Bantamweight Prospects of 2014

Final Words

So, just to sum up this year’s 2014 MMA Bantamweight Prospects Report, I will list the rankings and will be hopefully updating the list as I go. Once I have completed every weight class, I will set up an index as I did for last year’s report. A few Bantamweight prospects ended up signing with the UFC during the break between my 2013 and 2014 Report. Pedro Munhoz, Russell Doane, Michinori Tanaka, and Chris Beal likely would have earned a Top 10 spot had they not signed with the UFC.

The 2014 MMA Prospects Report rankings are as follows:

1. Bibiano Fernandes
2. Marlon Moraes
3. Thomas de Almeida
4. Sheymon Moraes
5. Julio Arce
6. Jimmie Rivera
7. Brett Johns
8. Anthony Birchak
9. Jonas Bilharinho
10. Renato Carneiro

2013 MMA Prospects Report revisited

Last year’s 2013 Bantamweight Prospects report rankings were as follows:

1. Henry Cejudo
2. Bibiano Fernandes
3. Aljamain Sterling*
4. Marlon Moraes
5. Sheymon Moraes
6. Josh Hill*
7. Chris Holdsworth*
8. Brandon Bender
9. Kyoji Horiguchi*
10. Sirwan Kakai*

* Signed with the UFC.

8 of last year’s Top 10 Bantamweight prospects signed with the UFC, Bellator, WSOF, or One FC a few months after my report. I should note that Sirwan Kakai appeared on TUF 18, but lost to Chris Beal in the prelim fights.
