Sergei Kharitonov
Ht: 6’4 – Wt: 265 – Age: 32
Born: Arkhangelsk Oblast, Russia
Fights out of: Amsterdam, Netherlands
Team: Golden Glory
Overall Record: 19-5
Promotion: Free Agent
2012 Forecast:
Kharitonov is still a top-level heavyweight, but his dedication and conditioning seem to be lacking compared to his former years in PRIDE. Kharitonov has some of the heaviest hands in the division and used to flash solid submission skills as well. Kharitonov has been inconsistent throughout his career, but his recent losses to Jeff Barnett and Jeff Monson have been lopsided defeats that portray him as being lost on the ground.
If Kharitonov is brought over to the UFC and booked against strikers, he should find immediate success. With a lack of challengers left for UFC champion Junior Dos Santos, Kharitonov would be a welcome addition to the UFC. There is still a strong possibility that Kharitonov will not be signed by the UFC. He likes to roam between various promotions and has often dabbled in kickboxing.
