10 Best MMA Flyweight Prospects of 2014

#1: Henry Cejudo

Henry Cejudo was my #1 Bantamweight prospect in 2013, but since then, Cejudo has officially made the move to Flyweight despite having some recent weight cutting issues. Due to Cejudo missing weight on more than one occasion, some questions are starting to arise on whether Cejudo is truly committing himself towards being a future UFC champion. There have been a few in the MMA media that have stated Cejudo treats MMA more as a hobby than anything else. Cejudo has a ton of outside the cage projects going on as he’s still trying to capitalize on his Olympic wrestling fame. If Cejudo can stay committed to MMA, he certainly has the skills to be a future top contender. His wrestling is unparalleled and you can quickly see that he’s made some strides with his grappling and positioning. His striking has gotten him in some trouble, but he’s proven to have a rock solid chin. Cejudo is currently signed to Legacy FC. In his last fight, he was able to grind out fellow prospect Elias Garcia. Yet, the biggest test of his career was recently announced as he will face heavy-hitter and former UFC and WEC fighter Damacio Page for the Legacy FC Flyweight Championship.
