10 Best MMA Bantamweight Prospects of 2014
#4: Sheymon Moraes
Sheymon Moraes was nearly deemed ineligible for this rankings report after not competing since December of 2012, but he recently made his return to the cage and quickly showed why he is one of the most impressive prospects in the entire sport. In Moraes’ most recent fight, he easily knocked out his Brazilian journeyman opponent within :20 of the 1st round, utilizing a brutal elbow strike. Moraes’ striking is some of the best in the entire Bantamweight division, regardless of promotion. Moraes is currently the striking coach at Team Nogueira, and also competes in a variety of Muay Thai competitions. He still likely has some work to do with his takedown defense and grappling, but make no mistake, Moraes has the potential to one day be a UFC champion.
