10 Best MMA Bantamweight Prospects of 2014

#5: Julio Arce

Julio Arce has quietly risen his way through the prospects ranks, but that’s all likely going to change after winning the Ring of Combat Bantamweight title earlier this year. Ring of Combat has proven to be one of the top promotions for producing UFC talent with notable alumni Chris Weidman, Uriah Hall, Al Iaquinta, and Ryan LaFlare. Arce trains out Team Tiger Schulmann alongside Louis Gaudinot, Lyman Good, and formerly Uriah Hall. Arce is 5-0 as a professional, and 6-0 as an amateur. His fights have had a tendency of going to the judges, but Arce has largely been in control of every fight he’s ever been involved in. Arce has good boxing and excellent conditioning. He is a natural of sorts when it comes to his fighting style. He rarely puts himself in bad positions, and if he does, he is good at scrambling or using his footwork to get back to the center of the cage.
