10 Best MMA Bantamweight Prospects of 2014
#1: Bibiano Fernandes
Bibiano Fernandes has been in the fight game since 2004. Yet, despite being one of the most talented fighters in the sport, he’s never competed in the UFC, PRIDE, Bellator, Strikeforce, or WEC. Bibiano has mostly fought in Japan under the DREAM and more recently the One FC banner. Bibiano nearly signed with the UFC in 2012, and already had a fight booked at UFC 149 against Roland Delorme, but at the last minute, Bibiano threw the UFC curveball and signed with One FC. Bibiano claimed that One FC was willing to pay him better than the UFC. Nearly 2 years later, Bibiano’s career has somewhat faded into anonymity. Bibiano was a world class BJJ practitioner prior to entering mixed martial arts. He has steadily improved his striking and overall skills, and would certainly be a Top 10 fighter in the UFC.
