The BJJ wizard Demian Maia will look to continue his impressive run as a Welterweight by facing off against fellow grappler Jake Shields in Brazil. Maia’s previous losses have been to opponents that can stop his wrestling and counter with better striking. Shields may be able to hold his own on the ground, but on the feet, Maia should have the advantage. A win over Shields won’t move him up the ranks much, but future fights with Carlos Condit or Rory MacDonald are likely on the horizon.
