Jake Shields’ place in the UFC Top 10 is under close review as he’s struggled to find success in the UFC. Shields has a golden opportunity to step back into a contender role with a win over Demian Maia, but the odds are not on his side as he heads over to Brazil in hopes of proving his own respective grappling prowess. Should Shields lose, he will certainly fall out of the Top 10 in favor of Matt Brown.
