Rousimar Palhares has only fought twice at Welterweight, but following back-to-back 1st round submissions over solid fighters (Mike Pierce, Steve Carl), he is widely considered to be one of the most dangerous submission fighters in the world. Palhares’ submission ability has been the center of controversy due to his penchant for holding onto submissions well after an opponent taps. World Series of Fighting took a chance on Palhares and after winning their Welterweight title, he will need to continue and show restraint in the heat of battle if he wants to keep his job. There is no doubt that if Palhares submits Jon Fitch, the UFC may be willing to give him one last chance.
