Comments:
Francis Carmont has won himself few fans as he’s climbed the ranks of the UFC Middleweight division. 2 of his last 3 fights were razor-thin decisions against Lorenz Larkin and Tom Lawlor, but Carmont’s lay ‘n’ pray style has made him a favorite of the judges. Carmont is currently riding a 6-fight win streak in the UFC, and hasn’t lost a fight in over 5 years. His move to Tristar in Canada where he trains alongside Georges St.Pierre has paid off as Carmont now finds himself in the Top 10. Carmont still needs to fine tune his finishing skills, but his blend of size and wrestling have proven effective against his recent opposition. Dana White made it no secret that he was not a fan of Carmont’s last performance, so I wouldn’t expect to see him on a main card next, but he should be given a Top 15 opponent next time out.
