Tomasz Drwal vs. Drew McFedries @ UFC 103

UFC 103 Middleweight Bout
Tomasz Drwal(2-1) vs. Drew McFedries(4-4)

A fight between hard-hitting Tomasz Drwal and Drew McFedries has been booked for UFC 103. Both fighters won their last fights via TKO and are looking to make an immediate push up the ranks with another KO win.

Tomasz Drwal is making the cut to 185. Though he’s found recent success at 205, his conditioning was questionable. He must have realized that for him to make a true push as a contender he would have to dedicate himself to the gym. Drwal joins a very crowded Middleweight division, and it will be interesting to see how Drwal’s skills transfer over. His last 8 out of 9 wins have come via KO or TKO. Though Drwal likes to strike, he would have a much higher chance of being victorious if he brought this fight to the ground because trying to stand with McFedries has its obvious consequences.

McFedries is back to his winning ways after dominating Xavier Foupa-Pokam on route to a TKO victory. Prior to that win, his UFC career was in jeopardy following consecutive 1st round submission losses to Thales Leites and Mike Massenzio. McFedries still has a ways to go on the ground and will probably never rise to the top of the division because of this. Regardless, his KO power is devestating. McFedries could give any striker a run for his money if they chose to stand with him, but his weaknesses are well-known and it would be foolish for any opponent to not seek the takedown.
