Marcus Davis cut by UFC

Fan favorite Marcus Davis‘(17-8 overall, 9-6 UFC) 15-fight career in the octagon has sadly come to an end according to MMAjunkie. Davis first debuted on The Ultimate Fighter 2 as a one-dimensional ex-boxer, but over time made quite an impression on fans with his heart and willingness to absorb damage in order to land his own knockout shot.

Though Davis lost his debut in the UFC to Melvin Guillard, he reappeared almost a year later and strung together 6 straight wins in the UFC. He also became a penchant for the UFC’s early explorations to England and Ireland.

Davis has fallen on hard times, as he’s lost his last 4 out of 5 fights, and although he was competitive in almost every fight, three of those losses ended with him being badly hurt. It’s a good time for Davis to salvage what’s left of his career on the independent scene and string together some wins in hopes of making one last run in the UFC.
