Mike Guymon retires

Mike Guymon(12-5-1) announced his retirement from mixed martial arts shortly after his submission loss to DaMarques Johnson at UFC Fight Night 23.

Guymon was likely going to be cut from the UFC roster following the loss and will now instead concentrate on coaching. Guymon entered the UFC on a 5-fight win streak, including handing welterweight prospect Quinn Mulhern his only professional loss. “The Joker” frequently visited the UG and was known as one of the more personable fighters in the business. We wish him well in his future endeavors.
