39th ranked welterweight Claude Patrick has put together a 12-fight win streak, including 2 wins to open up his UFC career. Though Patrick has not faced top competition, he’s been dominant utilizing his submission skills.

Daniel Roberts(ranked 42nd) has a very similar style of fighting as Patrick, and though he has quietly won 3 straight fights, he’s been given very little promotion as a future star. Roberts has holes in his standup game, but that is likely not going to be a factor in this bout.

These two are near mirror images of each other, as they both rely heavily on their grappling and submission skills. Roberts has faced the tougher competition thus far, but not by much. One would look for an x-factor in this fight, and that could be the hometown crowd cheering Patrick on. Though I favor Roberts’ overall fighting skills, I believe the crowd will carry Patrick to a close decision victory.
