Brandon Vera cut by UFC

The hype surrounding Brandon Vera‘s(11-6 overall, 7-6 UFC) career has officially been put to sleep as he suffered his third straight loss. Although, his loss to Randy Couture was a controversial decision that many had Vera winning.

Vera’s viability as a title contender were dismissed though after his last two losses to Thiago Silva and Jon Jones. Vera’s striking and bjj are still considered above average, but he has failed to live up to the hype that once surrounded his career as an undefeated heavyweight(8-0). Since then, he has gone 3-6 and will have to figure out the next step in his career.
